IN Japan and Korea the majority of fields are all dirt including the professional fields.

With the heavy summer rain the fields are often under water in a few hours, however the game will be played the same day.

Our American team players started to relax, maybe "no game". My words were "wait and watch".

Over 50 Japanese high school students dug holes in the dirt infield and outfield, place huge sponges and soaked up the water into large plastic containers.

The game was played that night. The Japanese HS pitcher threw 93 mph and I tried to sign him.
There were 5,000 people at this game in 1988.
We had 5 future ML players on our American team.
