The Tony Gwynn Classic is being played in San Diego. Teams include: Arizona, Tulane, Nebraska, San Diego, San Diego State, Kentucky, Bryant, UCSB. I have seen Arizona (twice), San Diego, Tulane, and Nebraska; roughly 20 pitchers total. I saw San Diego State last weekend.
The top velo pitcher (that I saw) was Arizona Bobby Dalbec. He sat 92-3 topped at 94. One other right handed Tulane pitcher touched 90 but sat 88. No LHP touched 88; six sat 86 or less. The righties sat 87-8.
It is early in the season and I confess I was surprised that the programs I saw displayed this type of velo.
