That's a significant amount of info being collected and dropped into a DB. Assuming he has this automated in some shape or form. Would like to get this replicated in the Northern Region.

Does look mostly automated - pulled from local papers' sites...
Would be tough to pull off in the NR as there's no local regular news sources that cover entire districts.
assume the data being used takes alot of factors into account - stregth of schedule- run differential and so on. Just dont know.

Just thought it is an interesting undertaking by someone who deserves some note...incredible amount of data compiled.

The baseball data seems pretty accurate- although dont know how up to date it is.

I think I know the guy that does this and his emphasis is more football than baseball.

I dont see wrestling included as a sport which may change things some as schools like St Chris hae pretty strong programs...might bump them up on the overall list.

I do question the ranking for Dinwiddie as strength of schedule for them is very weak in the Cental this year. Also dont know if James River is only 2 points better than St Chris....I have seen JR a couple of times and they are loaded. Have not seen St Chris play though.

Suprised Bendictine isnt rated higher by the computer...had heard they were State Champs last year and returned most of their team?

Guess bottom line is we/I would need more information about how the numbes are compiled in order to draw may conclusions
Couple of thoughts

Rating formula is at bottom of page (50% team win %, 33% Opp win %, 17% Opp's Opp's win %).

Tough to calculate wrestling (also tennis which isn't listed), as schools often compete in a combination of dual meets (winner-loser) and multi-team tournaments where championships are often decided. Not sure if these formulas use that, doesn't appear to.

Private boy's s****r is a fall sport so no interplay there (although girl's play same season, pub and private).

As to question of strength of schedule (Dinwiddie)probably will balance out as season rolls.

As to Benedictine, they are 11th in this listing , it says it only counts games against opps in Central region thus shows BHS with 5-3 record (actually 13-3 overall), but not counting 8 wins from out of area.
It is interesting, but not very practical from my perspective. Basically, who has the best all- around-sports-teams in the area....which realy doesn't count for much when you think about it. I think state championships and regional championships are more interesting than who has the best winning average across all schools in most sports (some sports are missing).

I would equate this to the BCS in college football... interesting for conversation.

That would be OK if this wasnt a power ranking for the current year...would be cool to factor in District,State, and Regional Championships into the equation...although if you do that you would be doing kind of a "best all time" instead of the current years Power Rankings.

Would be a dramatic change in things and may find John Marshall, TJ, and Wythe at the top in the "all time" category since for years they were the only teams in Richmond

Every year in each District an all around trophy is awarded based on a point system for teams acomplishments in all sports based on wins and championsips
