Haven't posted in a while due to health concerns and the stress this just laid on me isn't helping at all. But it's nothing compared to what's going on with our son and he is devastated.
We told our son to inquire about schools with his coach back in the fall. It's too early was his response. Then in January again, the response was wait until June. The end of June a D-1 offer came with a scholarship, amount unknown. He applied and is currently going through the acceptance. The coach was waiting to see the award letter to make an offer. We just got a message today on our machine that he resigned yesterday due to family obligations. Seems the school decided to do things differently at the last minute and this coach couldn't go along with it because of other commitments. There's now a search for a new coach. My son could not afford this school without this offer. One month to go and he's now stuck. Why do schools wait until the end of the summer to come up with a different plan?
I'm calling the AD Monday to now see where our son stands but in the meantime our son is open to listen to anything.If anyone knows of a school still looking for a catcher (he also plays second base) please email our son at bakothekat25@yahoo.com
PS. He comes with an ongoing 4 year book scholarship from his high school.
