Dadof3: Though about 120 miles up north, Erie Sea Wolves (AA team for Detroit Tigers) play ball. You'd see a number of players from those teams make it to the "show." Also some major leaguers are sent to AA when working their way from rehabbing an injury.

Next, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers team has a very nice stadium (new turf)-- about 3 years old, As a newer member of the ACC, you'll see some great baseball.

For younger players and perhaps closer to you there is American Legion baseball at the Jr and Senior levels (some states have also started 15U Legion, and a newer "prep" division.) Pennsylvania IMHO is easily a top 5 American Legion state (based on teams alone). The Pitt Coach, Joe Jordano is a big advocate of Legion baseball - he played Legion as a kid.

<On a side note: Love Heinz Field/(new "3 Rivers".). Was at the home run derby (David Wright vs Ryan Howard) several years ago. The Reds Homer Bailey was one of the pitchers in the "Futures" game. I haven't been back to Pittsburgh in a couple of years-- I used to live near Bloomfield/Friendship Hospital Area.>
