South Texas Sliders, Houston team

Does anybody have first hand experience with the South Texas Sliders that are based in Houston? I see they have a San Antonio team and a Houston team. Son wants to try out for them and I've been asking around our area and heard positive and negative. PM responses will be fine. Thanks!

I have played in tournaments the Ray Hammond (Sliders Mgr) has hosted for many years and like him as a person. I have never played against any of his team. In 2008 I did coach a team that beat a Sliders team in the Junior Olympics.
