This past weekend (7/23) the Southeast Select, coached by Dirk Main, won the IBC World Series in Clearwater. The Select beat a tough Michigan team that was led by pitcher Burny Mitchen and MIF Kyle Thom (Best Defensive Player). Burny is a 6'6" incoming junior that pitched his heart out. In the championship game Mitchem did the damage with his bat, going 4 for 4 with two doubles.

The Select were paced offensively by Michael Main (Deland) and tournament MVP Joey Terdoslavich (Sarasota). Joey Winker (Bishop Moore) pounded the ball (11 extra base hits) and played awesome defense. JW Kilpatrick (Lake Highland), Jordan Lucas (Venice) and Andrew Cobb (Lake Highland) pitched some big innings for the Select. Kilpatrick pitched five tough innings to win the semi final game on Friday. Cobb started the championship game for the Select and Lucas came in for the save. Nick Main (Deland), the youngest player in the tournament, shared duty behind the plate with Garrett Gregory (St Stephens).

Congratulations Southeast Select!
