If you are talking about the Southern Collegiate Baseball League, there are several members here who have had kids play in the league. JT's son played in the league last summer.
I can give you some information about the league. What would you like to know? It was better competition that I expected for my son...and is a very good league for those gaining experience playing wood bat ball as a stepping stone to higher tier leagues and for small college players who might not get a shot in the Valley or Coastal Plains leagues.
The basic fee was not too bad...it was the cost of the housing that was high. All in all...we'd do it again in a heartbeat.
You would be in an ideal situation only 30 mins away. The pitch count IS strictly enforced, too. It seems there were a good number of players coming back from injuries in the league. I think the top two players in the league were both coming back from them, last summer.
My son played in the SCBL last year and absolutely loved it. His fee was also $400---he had a host family from heaven who took care of all his food needs, so there were no other costs--outside of airfare. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
My son played in Morganton last summer and really enjoyed himself. The up front cost was minimal and the team provided jobs for the players as well. He too was coming off surgery and this was the pefect fit for him to get back into the swing of things.
