Dad,
I have been to Georgetown many times, but as the parent of a Trinity U player.
Southwesterns' success as an NAIA and DIII was associated with the coaching of Jim Mallon. He retired in 2004.
Since that point, they have battled but have not achieved the success they had with Coach Mallon.
With that said, Coach Mallon was just a great baseball coach. While it is a bit of embellishment, it would be, in DIII, like following John Wooden.
Georgetown is an excellent school.
The baseball field is a very nice facility, excellent in fact. Everyone likes playing there.
Overall, however, Southwestern baseball is not what it was with Coach Mallon. In the SCAC, they battle Trinity, Millsaps, Hendrix, Austin College and that is a battle where they are not where they were.
