I did do some reading and although I knew the 1906 Cubs were good, I didn't realize just how good people who know think they were.
Baseball Statistician Harry Hollingwworth has them as the 4th best team of all time. Agreeing with him is sabertician Bruce Grossberg, while Alexander Bielakowski, Phd. Has them as the best team of all time.
Baseballguru.com has them as the 8th best of all time.
I guess sox fans have to have something, so let's agree to include the 2005 sox even though no one had them on their list.

Back in 1906, The World Series was an exhibition. Just like in the days of the Crosstown Classic, those sox were better at winning exhibitions than games that really count.
