SBF - Coach Knight, a regular poster on this site, attended/played at Spring Arbor. Perhaps if you posted this on the general items section he will notice it. He seems to post primarily on weekdays. The coach at Spring Arbor, Hank Burbage, is highly regarded nationwide. I think he has had some health problems and may have retired. I know Coach Knight will enlighten you.
Thank you, Flintoide, for that wonderful lead in....
Spring Arbor is a great school...but as is true with any college, it depends on what you are looking for. It is a small Christian college that plays great baseball. You won't find the party atmosphere, you are expected to attend chapel once a week, and you will have to carry yourself in a certain manner to be able to play for the Cougars. However, if that fits your personality, you would love the place.
SAU is growing a lot lately. They just put in a new fieldhouse, built a gorgeous new library, and just built new dorms as well. The baseball program is in transition, as Coach Burbridge has now retired. Coach Burbridge (who was my coach) won over 1000 games and is in the Hall of Fame, but he has had health problems recently. The new coach is Sam Riggleman, who has been a head coach at national-power Dallas Baptist, among other places. He is a great guy and a fantastic coach.
Bottom line: if you like a small school with great people, and you want to play a quality schedule at a school where baseball is the #1 sport, Spring Arbor would be a good choice.
