I'm starting to panic. I received a decent amount of interest this past fall but wasn't quite satisfied with the choices available and didn't really follow up with those schools. My question is: Where do I go from here? How can I get Coaches to see me this spring while they're busy with their teams? Can a coach get me into their school past the application deadline? As for the coaches I didn't really follow up with in the fall: How do I approach them with my interest at this point?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, just freaking out a little bit.

Thanks <3

TheLefty,

I'm not entirely sure of your situation as you've only shared a little.  I assume you are a high school senior.

THe first thing I would do is reach out (phone & email) to all the coaches you've previously contacted.  Do  this during the week not weekend when they are less busy.  Share your spring & summer schedule, and desire to learn more about their programs.  If they are close by, go see some games to see how they do things.  Tell the  coaches you will stop by to see some games, and do it.   From this point forward, you need to follow up on everything you say and do.

At the same time, you need to take a long hard look at what you did this Fall that wads successful and unsuccessful.  Be honest with yourself......Are you looking at the right schools?  Are you looking at the right talent level?  What other schools may be interested that fit your profile?  Make a list of 20-25 schools, and go after them.  Figure out how to get in front them whether it showcases, camps, or whatever.

Freaking out isn't going to help your situation.  Get your travel coach involved or high school coach to listen to your thoughts about college baseball.  Maybe they can help.

Good luck, and please keep us updated!

Hey Lefty

Just want to chime in here, putting baseball totally aside for a minute.

Did you apply to and get into a college or two already?  If so, be ready to deposit at one before May 1 (usually a 500 deposit); if NOT, you really need to do so ASAP. Look up colleges that are still accepting applications. We don't know anything about your academics of course, but some selective colleges still accept applications this late. More open enrollment schools will take them later. But schools can fill up, so get those done regardless.

If you are already set on this, disregard my advice of course! I just like to point out the obvious in case you had delayed applying in the hopes of finding the baseball opportunities.
