Another thing is Google Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach.  It's not a tournament but will set you up with as many games as you want with other teams visiting or find local teams.  My last year in Kentucky I took my team to them and LOVED IT.  Great experience.

To tag along with what lefthookdad said - all states have their athletic association website.  Usually they will have a place to post games needed or tournaments open.  You can google search by state and surf around their website.

Another way is find an area you would like to go to, find a local school there and contact them to see if they know anything.

Takes a lot of searching but you can find what you need.

Jacksonville has another good HS Tourney, son's HS went 2 years ago

Recent favorite:

The Wheels HS Invitational in Rock Hill, SC (near Charlotte) gave us the chance to see & meet area schools, UNC-Charlotte, Winthrop, Wofford, etc,...and those coaches can see players.

HS saw a Winthrop game as a group, parents & players went on individual visits also, nice fields to practice and play on.

Good competition, from as far as California, about 250-275 players total were there.

It was a pleasure to watch the SC High Schools execute plays.

Other colleges in SC were there,

some SC HS players ended up signing with Coastal, etc.

School/Son faced almost all D-1 committed pitchers.

Big change from back home.

They publish results and reports in the local paper,

and gave a nice plaque for making the All-Tournament team.

The hosts were gracious and compiled & mailed game video up to us personally and to the HS.

Wish they were going back there this year.

We live in Minnesota and our sons HS team travels to Venice, FL every year over spring break to practice and play intersquad games.  They are able to (some years) scrimmage, but cannot play official games due to state high school league rules.  Interesting that some states allow games and others don't.  Not sure why MN says no, other than the fact they may view it as too much of an advantage.

If I'm not wrong, Colorado allows you one tourney per year that will only cost you two games against your schedule limit, but you can play no more than 5 games. Most teams here go to Arizona during their spring break.

Coach_Sampson,

Instead of heading south why not head west to San Diego. The Lions Baseball Tournament is the oldest and arguably the best high school tournament in the country.Over 100 teams participate every year. There are eight divisions and you are sure to find one that matches your school's talent level, size, etc.Lot's of really good programs play in this tourney every year so the competition is excellent especially in the Classic & Premier divisions.Lots of MLB scouts & college coaches too.

Bobby has a great point with the Lion's tournament, it is a great tournament. There is also tournaments in Az and Las Vegas, as well as the greater LA/Orange County area. I think the Lion's also have one in OC, as well as the Elks in the LA area. Most teams are California based but I have seen a few from out of state when my son was playing.

Does  your team have money to pay for it, or are your parents expected to pay? Around here teams usu do fundraisers in Fall to pay for traveling.

Just curious for those who go how it's paid for.

Fundraisers and Parent funding for our high school.

I know my son's team travels down to Orlando (Braves facility) every other year.  For whatever reason the coaches like to mix in 3 or 4 games with some scheduled downtime at the Disney facility.  There is a coach/player/parent meeting about it this week, so I'll learn more info then.  I do know it will be during the week of April 6th.

My Son is a Sr. at Gloucester Catholic High School in NJ. We have traveled to the tournaments below and all have been very good competition and expecting the best competition this year at PG Spring Swing.

Bishop Gorman Easter Classic April 2012, Las Vegas NV.

Mingo Bay Classic April 2013, Myrtle Beach SC.

Forest Acres Classic April 2014, Columbia SC.

Perfect Game Louisville Slugger Spring Swing April 2015, Lakepoint GA.
