Anyone have any information on St. John's University baseball program? I know they play in the Big East, and they were rated 31st in the nation in preseason polling. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide me.
St. John's was in Miami (FIU) this week-end... next to Carillo (UM) they had the best hurlers we've faced. Fortunately for us, we hit them Even though their coach was tossed for a game, they appeared to be a well-coached, tight-knit team. The Red Storm finally jumped on our bullpen in the last game and halted our 7 game winning streak. All-in-all looked to me to be a very good program to play for.
My high school teammate and very good friend is a freshman on St. John's. They are currently atop the Big East and from what he tells me they have a very talented team. Pitching staff is very good. I'm at UMD so I went to see them play Georgetown when they were here, and I was really impressed with the hitting and their stud closer Hanson I believe.
Thanks to all have replied. Everyone that I have talked to has mentioned how good the program is overall. The school remains on the list of possibilities.
