congrats... thats really impressive. i play for elk grove and they beat us in the final four of the summer state tournament. they have a really good team.
They are great, great kids and great coaches. Zunica is a big league coach who knows his baseball. His staff has been with him for the past ten years and they work well together. Get ready to see them go far this year
A 2009 player to watch is Angelo Burrage a southpaw, (RF and 1st Base) who has speed and power and is attending St. Rita as a Freshman. Burrage played travel ball with the Clubbers from 2002-2005 and will be playing for the Schaumburg Seminoles 15-U team in 2006.
Reminder: Joliet Catholic(13-1) shut out St. Rita 3-0 and has to be considered the better of the two teams. JCA has 7 wins against teams who have been ranked in the Chicago area(Provi(2), Nap. Central, Carmel, Minooka, St. Rita, Andrew) as well as a win against the defending state champ from Mich.
yea I dind't say Joliet Catholic wasn't right up there but we played both teams last summer in state we St. Rita was a better team...I'm sure JCA threw their best in the 3-0 win but every game is different any1 can beat any1 on any given day so
grenrf4- no not their best, im pretty sure they threw a sophmore against you guys... its either saying one of two things... one that st rita is not really that good to lose to a inexperienced sophmore or two that sophmore is just that good
I guess there is only really one way to find out who is the better team and that is which team goes to state and which team gets further...we'll find out near mid-May early June in the regional, sectional, and supersectional
that sophmore had a perfect era his first 3 games. ( St Rita, Providence, Andrew) maybe hes just that good....his name Steven Kazak LHP Joliet Catholic
What's up with Rita? I believe they are a very solid defensive team with great depth at pitching which usually with a little hitting is a deadly combination. They smoked a shakey Mt Carmel team on Monday but then came back and lost to them on Wed 3-2. I understand the lose in the 2nd MC game, natural rivalry and all but surprised to see them lose to DeLasalle 10-5. Is it just a bump in the road or something to be concerned about?
