I have been invited to play for a team in a tournament at a major D1, then a single game at a local D3, and then starting the next day, the WWBA 18u Championships. The end of the D1 tournament and the beginning of the WWBA Tournament interfere with the Stanford All Star Camp, which is apparently a can't miss event. The tournaments are $1200 together not including airfare and the Stanford Camp is $795 not including airfare. Which would be better for me to attend for exposure purposes?

DLOCK15,

Congratulations for having lots of Summer opportunities lined up this early. I assume you are a 2012. I think you won't get wrong with either but it all depends on what schools/teams you are targeting.

Depends also on factors like academic or athletic capability, draftability, personal goals.

Here are the schools for last year's 2010 Stanford
All Star Camp.

STANFORD ALL STAR CAMP 2010 TEAMS

I know more will chime in. If you have been to the 2010 Stanford Futures Camp you will likely be invited automatically for the 2011 All Star Camp. If you decide to do the Stanford camp and haven't attended one in the past, make sure you apply early in the stanford camp website as it is invite only.

Hope this helps. Good Luck this season.

DLOCK15,

I agree with Ryanrod23, you can't go wrong with either...but it really does depend on the schools you're targeting and your overall athletic and academic capability.

My son was receiving numerous emails from Coach Stotz throughout his junior year, and we had the same dilemma regarding the Stanford Allstar Camp and WWBA Tournament in Georgia. We reviewed the schools that attended the Stanford Camp the previous year, and there were only a few colleges that were on the radar for my son. Therefore, our family decided to have him play in East Cobb and participate in the WWBA Tournament. He and I had never been to Georgia, and it was a great experience...we had some good father/son time and saw some pretty good baseball.

I see you're from Louisiana. You may want to make the trip to California and attend the Stanford Camp? I've heard nothing but good things about the camp. Honestly, if it was in the budget, I would have had my son participate in both this past summer. I'm sure there are a handful of websters on here that have attended both and can give you additional advice. Good luck to you!
DLOCK15,

Not sure about amount of coaches with WWBA but
there are significantly less coaches in the Stanford Futures than the All Star camp (See link above and you can start from page 1). The advantage of Futures camp is more one on one with coaches during stations and all games are in Sunken Diamond.

Hey there BSBL247...Good Luck to your son this season! Smile
DLOCK-

FWIW, the WWBA 17U, not the WWBA 18U, always has the most coaches of all the summer Tournaments put on by Perfect Game. Obviously, I don't know what talent level you currently play at but the 17U will have some very high end talent from all over the country playing there and most coaches will be recruiting extensively at the event.

Birdman14/BSBL247:

Is there a list of Colleges for the 17U and 18U from the event last Summer?

Birdman14/BSBL247 I sent you guys a PM:
