Does anyone have experience with giving mail-order steaks as a gift? And can you recommend any sellers?
Yes, this relates to baseball - I read a post from 2015 that recommended this as a gift to a host family. Any other suggestions for gifts?

how much are you looking to spend? I think you can order steaks from Peter Luger's
We are from Maryland so we order crab cakes from G&M or Koco’s. I think it’s nice to do something that’s from your area.
We have had Omaha Steaks several times as gifts to us. They are good. I personally do not like them as much as going to the store but they are good. Also have a mixed box of various proteins, not just steaks.
Omaha steaks are nice, Peter Luger's say thank you very much!!
Whoa! Checked the Luger website. You can order the Luger burgers. They come in a pack of 18, so probably best for a cookout or something.
I think Omaha steaks is a good option for the host family gift. There are bunch of nice meat plus starches and desserts packages.
Did anyone ever close the loop on the Milb player donation from members here? Did i miss it?
I like Omaha steaks fine, but the best food packages sent to me have come from La Tienda. Their jamon and chorizo is legit. Sitka Salmon is good too.
This place is cool. https://stripdistrictmeats.com/exotic-meats/. Got some for parents and inlaws
Thanks, all - not often that everyone on this site agrees on something! Got a good package; the family took care of him all summer.
TerribleBPthrower, clearly your trip to Long Island made a lasting impression...

Hah! I'm a foodie and I love great service. When my wife looks at our expenses every year she shakes her head at the restaurant tab. I'm sure if you look through most threads I comment on there is almost always a comment on food.
@Shoveit4Ks no...that was on me. I actually didn't get very many people reaching out so I'm not sure it makes sense to set up a fund...

Hold that thought though.....I will PM you.
https://www.juniorsjerky.com/ This place is in my "neighborhood" and is legit. For gift giving, I recommend the Jerky.
Mesquite tenderloin from Tom Perini's is a great gift. Open it and eat it.
If anyone here wants to send me some, I'll sample them for "quality assurance" prepared Pittsburgh Rare........and forward the remaining portion to my son and his roommates. lol
