Yes I realize that,

I was watching some HS games and it took about 3.9-4 seconds from the pitcher to start moving in their delivery to the ball getting to second by the catcher.

Ofcourse the jump will make a difference as well as that catcher is not going to always be perfect with his throws.

I'm just kind of wondering the time it takes a fast runner to steal 2nd.

I remember reading an article about Lou Brock and how he stole so many (early 70's) bases.

He said he didn't know how fast he was, he tried to get a good jump, then it was just thirteen step and a slide to 2nd!

I tried it, and I couldn't do 13 steps but I could do 15 instead.

I liked this method becase no one put a clock on me (I was not fast).
