I reccieved a phone call from steve Bort 2 days ago he gave me the sales pitch about his burgin beach showcase in Texas. I told him my son attended his event in beaumont last year and it was the worst event i have ever attended, he argued and said he had rave reviewes, i told him " you want to argue about it and not ask me what my experience was?". After he calmed down he asked and i told him that pitchers ran 3 60yrd dashes than 2hrs of batting followed by lunch then an hour of hitting stations and after all this pitchers were told to start warming up. I saw 4 pitchers tell their parents they were not going to pitch because their legs were fried and they left. He said that he understood and that he'd look into it. He just called again today, and started out mr blank this is steve bort and i listen to his entire 2 minute spill again and i said "you dont remember calling me 2 days ago? and how i said how crapy your event is for pitchers?" To which he replied "oh, oh yeah sorry to have bothered you" and then hung up. Thankfuly i think im off that list
Anyone have a good experience with this?
Last fall my son went to a tryout. I looked into it some and knew there were some issues about this. But Mr. Bort called him on his cell phone several times basically saying he wanted him to be his catcher...so he really wanted to go for it for something different. So we drive 2 hours away for this thing and there are only about 10 kids trying out and conducted by college players (Liberty). Afterward, they said they would be in contact in a couple days to let them know....nothing, no call, no email. So over a few week period I left Mr. Bort several VM and emails none of which were returned. How hard is it to just give some feedback and just say sorry you didn't make the team?? That is what ****ed me off the most!
