Could someone who has attended the June Stevenson Showcase please give me insight as to how the showcase is run? How many days does it last, number of scouts or recruiters that attend (what level of colleges they represent), drills that they have the players go through, games etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this!!

The showcase begins on a Saturday morning and starts pretty early from what I can remember. When you get there, you are assigned a desginated meeting section to receive your shirt and meet your coach. (Usually a coach from the conference that you are in) There are players throughout most of the state representing their conference. The conferences stick together and play eachother..I think it's four games total..two on each day. Before you play any games, the players will all run the 60 yard dash between the two fields. Each player gets to run the dash two times. After that you just play ball. It's a great event and many coaches get out there. The only showcase that probably topped it was the Area Codes at Triton. Schools I can remember seeing were ISU, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Creighton, UCONN, Indiana, Mighigan State, Illinois. Good luck.
The showcase last year was two nine inning games. Usually the pitchers go an inning a piece, and the players in the field split both games. It is a nice event and there are usually many scouts there (I played in it last year and worked at it for several years before that). There is usually a decent turnout of major league scouts along with college scouts.
I'm not sure if there are other showcase events held at Stevenson, but the one my son attended was called the Northwest Suburban Baseball Tournament headed by Harvey Foster (www.hfosterbaseball.com).

Participants were limited to the Mid-suburban, DuPage Valley, West Suburban, North Suburban, Central Suburban, East Suburban Catholic, Upstate Eight and Fox Valley conferences. Here is a link to the 2005 NWSBT Agenda to give you a better idea of how the tournament is organized.

Like others have already stated, this event was heavily attended by scouts and college recruiters. Hope this info helps you in your search.....
Stevenson is June 16-17 Plainfield is June 23-24 Harvey puts both on and it is for the 07's this year (JRS) Highley scouted by college and pro guys. It seems the conference split is I88 or so. North of it went to Stevenson and South of it was in Plainfield. Dont think thats how they do it but it is close to how it works out. The kids from the West, they were at Plainfeild. We make sure we are playing close to home those weekends because it definitly puts the kids in a good spot.( On a baseball field in front of a ton of scouts) If your invited , wise to be there... Unless of course you get a chance to be at the U of Arkansas in the PG National showcase, but that is a whole different animal...

Southside, your guys are Plainfield..
