I know this has probably been discussed before, but what do you consider "Striking out the side"?

Does it have to be that nobody reaches base safely and the pitcher struck out all three outs in an inning? Three up, three down.

or

Is it just all three outs that the pitcher recorded in an inning were strikeouts? It does not matter if the pitcher gave up baserunners, runs etc.

How about 4 up 4 K's - but the catcher misses one... or even better - saw this once - 5 up 5 K's... catcher was completely over matched - 2 Dropped thirds - plus two others where he dropped it and then made the tag.

You don't need a catchy expression for either of those. You're going to end up telling the whole story every time, anyway.
