Before my son set off to go to a PAC12 school (USC), he knew it was going to be a grind.  But until you're actually there, you don't fully comprehend what the "grind" is really like.  Though it was difficult for him, he managed it well.  When someone likened it to having two full time jobs, that's exactly what it was like. . .putting in 80 + hours a week between baseball and academics.  And as a parent (who didn't play a sport in college), I intellectually understood it too, but really didn't fully understand the challenges until my son went through it.

 

Now that he's playing pro-ball, he says compared to college, it's so much more relaxing and fun to play ball.
