I was wondering if anyone has seen this movie? It's about young players from the Domincan Republic who are trying to make it into professional baseball. I know it's just a movie, but i was really curious about how much stuff like this happens? It seemed to me that many of them were somewhat mistreated; I guess that's what happens when it turns into a business.

Play pitch by pitch. You can't lose a game on one pitch and you sure as hell can't win it on one pitch.

It was a good movie, I am sure that many of it was based on some truth but maybe some sensationalism for art's sake was seen.

They are taken advantage of, most of their "agents" more or less sell them off, take their money, give them supplements they have no clue why they are taking them, MLB is trying to change that.

I think that most fail not because of lack of talent, but rather lack of support, and lack of understanding US culture.

The road is a tough one for the majority, not necessarily only the hispanic.
