My son (Class of 2010) is committed to playing college ball in the Northeast, preferably in Boston (will be glad to explain how a Georgia born & bred kid became such a Yankee!) He has the SATs and grades to get into his target schools on academics alone; he's also a strong catcher & hitter with impressive stats. My question concerns summer baseball - he has an opportunity to play Summer 09 for an excellent team in the Northeast, but that involves a lot of logistics work - housing, transportation, etc. We may be willing to do all that, but I want to be sure this is truly necessary for him to get the exposure to the schools he's pursuing. I keep hearing "talent gets found", but it does look like he's getting 'found' mostly by schools in the Southeast - not his focus.
I'd appreciate some input on this - thanks y'all!
