My son is an 09 and is starting to send letters to college coaches. He is putting his summer schedule with the letter. Here is my question. What if a coach/scout decides to come see him play and the game times have been changed. Time changes are a very common occurence at these summer tourneys.
I am speculating that the coach going to these tournements are probably there to see alot of kids and games so maybe no big deal.
Any thoughts/experiences ??

We put the travel coach's name and phone # in the letter. The summer after our kids JR year we were in a very competitive summerleague. We had a lot of coaches looking. We took along and handed out about 10 rosters at each game. The first time with college coaches in the stands they were very distracted. A coach came up and asked for a roster while the team was around. As travel coaches we made the mistake of talking to him right there. The team played poorly for that day. After that if someone asked we took him aside, gave him the roster, answered any questions, and never told the team they were there. They played much better not knowing anyone was looking.
Last summer, there was a specific coach who indicated he wanted to see my son play. My son emailed him and asked for his cell phone number in case there were any game changes and he emailed back with it. Sure enough, rain caused some schedule changes and my son was able to call the coach and let him know.

We also put the travel coach's name and cell phone number in all letters and emails. There was a college coach who called my son's travel coach for more information about a game. We were glad we did that, as the travel coach was alerted that he was coming and made sure to start our son in the game.
