Summer Ball Weekend of June 1-3

I feel the pain...or rain too I guess

This next week(end) looks nice though...

The 16U BBI Premier League got under way this weekend with the following results with rain delays on Saturday and cancellations today.

Patriots 16U over DBAT 16U - 7-1
Raptors 16U over Dallas Tigers 16U - 6-4
Raptors 16U over Patriots 16U - 5-2
Dallas Tigers 16U over Team Texas 16U - (score unknown)

The summer journey continues with games on Monday....weather permitting, of course.

Well Dallas Dragons 16's and 18's went to Temple
to play in the Mary Hardin Baylor Tournament
Both teams won their championship games.
16's went 5 - 0
18's went 2-0-1 with one game rained out and the championship game shortened due to rain.

Not a bad beginning for us.

Now it is on to San Antonio next weekend.

Congrats to all for getting to play. I'm green with envy.

Can only talk about 18's games

1st game against Grays 18, out of Austin, went 7 innings ended in 0-0 tie, time limit pool game.
Excellent pitching on both sides of the ball.
Nick Thomas pitched for Dragons.

2nd game against FB Reddogs, Dragons won 5-8
Ben Hornsby winning pitcher, had a good 3 innings then
started to struggle a bit, can tell he hasn't pitched
in several months, but a win is a win. Ryan Craighead
came in and finished up for him

3rd game against Saints, rained out

Championship game against the Texas Prospect from East Texas ended 2-1 with Dragons on top when the rain and lighting came. Bryan Kinard came out strong
pitching but Ryan Serr came in to get him out of a
jam and got the win.

I can only speak about the BBI Premier 16 games at Richardson HS on Sat, 6/2.

Game #1 saw the Patriots 16s hit well against the DBAT 16s which showed in the results with the Patriots winning 7-1.

Game #2 saw the Raptors 16 jump on the Tigers 16 early 4-0 and held on with great pitching from Tyler Carter who pitched a 4-hitter. Drew Harrison, from the Tigers, went 3-3 with a HR in the second inning.

Game #3 saw the Raptors again scratch in each of the first three innings to go ahead 5-1. Other than a first inning HR by #10 for the Patriots, Max Lamantia threw a complete game 3-hitter to keep the Patriot bats quiet the rest of the evening with quality defense to back it up.

Game #4 saw the Tigers 16U take out there frustration in losing earlier to defeat the Team Texas 16s. I don't have a score but I heard Harrison hit another HR in that game.

No games as of yet for DBat 18's, still waiting on Kermit and John to do a no rain dance.

Does anyone know if BBI will make up all these rainouts. I know they don't in the fall but wasn't sure about summer.

If they are scheduled league games, they will be rescheduled. If it's a preseason tourney, ummm, don't count on it.

Usually its up to the coaches. If the two teams can agree on a place and time Richard Holt will get them some umpires there.
