My son’s team has finished summer ball. He played in a Metro League and also on a 15-16 year old team. I believe the Metro League team only had 2 losses and his 15-16 team did extremely well by winning the sectional, state, and regional tournaments. Plans were to travel to West Palm Beach (leaving tomorrow) for Nationals, but mandatory football practice starts on Monday and a lot of the baseball boys (including mine) had to be back for football practice. It was a great baseball summer, one I will remember forever (sweat, laughter, nail biting, seed spitting, numb rear ends, and celebrations, but most importantly, the beautiful smile on my son’s face). Now on to football……

Congrats on a good summer for your son! My son continues to play up until time to head back to college.

I felt a bit nostalgic this past Saturday watching his games. Several kids that he knows from this area have ended up on that team and it was the most beautiful day of the summer weather wise. I found myself looking back at all the summers we've spent on a baseball field and what that's meant to our family in so many ways. It will be hard to know what to do with myself when it one day doesn't exist any more.
