Ball Four is a must-read classic if you haven't yet.

I read the first edition in junior high when it was considered sort a naughty book for a boy to read.

I re-read it last winter when I found it on Amazon Unlimited. It was like opening a time capsule--surprisingly tame compared to all the lurid tell-alls and exposes of the last 45 years.

On the re-read, one of the most interesting parts was reading Bouton's introductions to all the editions that have come out through the years and getting a glimpse into how he weathered a life with a lot of ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies.

I read "Big Data Baseball" last summer, but now that seems kind of old.  "The Arm" would be this year's equivalent.

When I don't have time to get into a full-length book, I pick up "The Glory of Their Times".  Stories from 100 years ago told by the men who played ball back then.  It is a wonderful history book.  Link below

"Montana Summer" is a short book by Tom Yankus who played ball at Williams and was drafted by the Yankees in the mid-fifties.  The book is about his first (I think last also) year in professional ball in the Pioneer League.  His first coach was Jack McKeon.

Read the hilsdale college monthly pamphlet from this past spring. It was authored by the guy that wrote the cobb book that was released in 14 or 15.has anyone read or know about book? The WHOLE cobb thing was a 100% complete lie. The creep that wrote the 60'0s book that was made into movie (tommy lee jones) only took the book writing deal  because he had  "made up" and outright" lied" in  so many newspaper and magazine articles the creep couldn't get a job.Cobb was in process of sueing publisher (to get first read) when he died.
