If I make it to the USA Baseball Championships-East, WWBA 17u, WWBA 16u (I have already found a team to pick me up for these 3 tournaments), a Perfect Game showcase, 2-3 college camps, and the Stanford Futures Camp, in addition to my regular summer team schedule, could I call that a good summer from an exposure standpoint for a 2013? If not, what could I try to change or add?

DLOCK15,

My two cents.....A couple of things. First, that is a busy schedule. Leave your self some time to catch your breath, reflect and follow up with these schools. Trust me it will feel like a job sending emails, and calling coaches. Try to get some help from your family or someone close to you if you get overwhelmed with all the admistrative stuff. Second, I would leave some additional weekends open where you could go to more unofficial visits or camps for the schools you are MOST interested in. Here is my reasoning: Showcases tend to be impersonal but sometimes a necessity for exposure. Coaches (by rule) can't really have the discussion they want to have with you at a Showcase if they are interested. However, on campus camps & visits allow you to get more information about the program & school, and develop a personal relationship with the coaches. Coaches have much more latitude to discuss things on their campus. Good luck!

I agree with Fenway. IMHO it sounds like an expensive and busy summer for a '13 when your busy summer, and investment, should be next year unless you are an incredible baseball stud and you want coaches to start tracking you now. Otherwise, if you are a great player, but not necessarily a top of the line D1 no brainer stud, put a little more free time into this schedule and save your bucks for next year. Don't get me wrong, your schedule looks great, but a lot rides on how intense your summer team schedule is. Is it a travel team? That could get very busy, and pricey. Personnaly, I'm a fan of Legion between Soph and Junior, and travel between Junior and Senior, but that's just one man's opinion. Good luck and be careful not to burn out, or to risk peaking too soon on the exposure side.

At the end of the day it has to be your call but you should get plenty of input from this site. Its up to you what to accept and what to discard.
That sounds like quite a bit for a 2013. Here the plans for our 2013 teams for this summer. USA Championships, Mantle and UA tournament in August. we do just enough to keep them sharp thier sophomore year and tell our parents to spend wisely because you are going to spend it your JR year. Here is what are 2012 class did this year. Sept. PG Nationals(Az), Jr. Fall Classic or Selected guys for Jupiter, and PG Underclass Showcase, UA showcase and various college camps. Summer, PG National showcase, Tournament of Stars, WWBA Georgia, COnnie Mack, various camps and showcases. Our parents were appreciative of not spending too much at younger ages now realizing what they have spent this year. Don't be in such a hurry.

If you can do all this this summer, thank your parents many, many times as this would cost a pretty penny.
