I see tons of information about summer teams in the greater DFW area, but next to nothing about the greater Houston area. I know several teams that are from this area, but wondered if anyone has any feedback on the best ones for which to play?
My son is a 16 year old Sophomore, and we are trying to determine a good team he might play for this summer. Any ideas?
Pitching is a lot like real estate - location, location, location.

wwjd,

There are lots of good summer teams in Houston. Here are just a few to consider.

Houston Heat
Kyle Chapman
Columbia Angles
Houston Raiders
Banditos Baseball
Proway Colt 45
Miracles Baseball Academy
Houston Sox
Saints Baseball Org.

Some will publish their try-out schedule and make it an open invitation and others will keep it closed and confidential. Tryouts typically start in May

Check out the Columbia Angles or Saints. They seem to draw kids from your area of town.

Look up the organizations on the web. Most publish their rosters or at least provide a listing of their college signees or pro draft picks. The Houston Heat, Kyle Chapman and Columbia Angles have the most top D1 signeess and early round Pro drafts. These were the dominate organizations for many years and draw top talent from across the metroplex.

Now groups like the Houston Raiders and Banditos are coming on strong. The Banditos and Raiders tend to draw kids from North Houston. The large number of talented kids in the North Houston districts of 13-5A (Klien), 14-5A (Woodlands), 15-5A (Cy-Fair), and 19-5A (Kingwood)are feeding these programs.
