Having just read an article about Mike Schmidt's battle with a very serious and possibly life threatening skin cancer, it seemed right to post this reminder for all players, parents and fans to be careful and take appropriate action. The consequences for not doing it can be far down the road.

+1 on that. Having spent too many hours on the field with No sunscreen , I had a bout a few years ago with skin cancer. Knock on wood, have been clean since then, but never out of the woods once you've had it, can show up when least expected.
Please put put a bottle of sunscreen in your player's bag!!
What is sun??? Right now the only protection we need here is from frostbite.
I've found Bullfrog spray on to be the best solution for ball players. It works. It's easy to apply. I wish I had used it more when I was younger.
I've damaged my skin from too much Southern CA beach volleyball and skiing in high elevations in the Sierras and Rockies. Before that it was years of baseball without using sun protection. Last week I had my third "cut into" skin cancer surgery. I've had stuff burnt off me so much I don't even consider that surgery anymore.
Your mention of Bullfrog (a personal favorite in past days as a river guide) reminded me of this article from last year about sunscreen and baseball.
