Anyone going to this next week?

My son has been selected to play on Team Georgia and will be out there having the time of his life.

For those who have been there, what can he expect to experience - the good and bad?

Son played on both the Junior Team in 2006 and the Senior Team in 2007. Georgia won in 2007!!!! (Final game was a rainout, but we won the tourney b/c we had beat the team we were to play in the finals.)

Both are a huge honor to be selected and it was a great experience for son. He loved both trips.

Juinor Team was a MUCH bigger deal than the senior team. Since the draft and follow was stopped, there were NO scouts at Senior Team and the talent was way down since some kids got drafted and most of the real talent has already signed scholly's. On the Junior Team Scouts were right there everyday and the talent was the best from the states and in GA, the absolute best of the best go except for the kids that play for East Cobb Baseball. They are allowed attend any other summer events. So, if your boy made the Junior Team, he is a stud for sure. Junior Team was INTENSE. The talent is really amazing and the scouts are there EVERY day.......

McAlester is a whole in the wall town and the fields are horrible. It is incredibly hot. Oven like. Son's host family was soooo awesome. The nicest people in the world. They worship the kids from GA. We still coorespond with them.

On the senior team, do not expect the same level of competition and expect zero scouts. We played at OU.

Hope that helps!

Your boy will love it!!! It will be a highlight for sure.

Thank you for replying and the information.

My son has actually already signed with a school so he's not looking to be found or find another school. He just wanted to experience this, set a goal 2 years ago, and achieved it.

I did hear from other's that it was extremely hot. Maybe he'll be use to it from this weather here in Ga...lol. And we also heard how great the hosts were!
