Grandson is currently using a pair of Easton sunglass when glare is a problem. He's probably the only player on his team that always caries it in his bag. I asked my optometrist if the top of the line polarized sunglasses (i.e Oakley) were superior to the cheaper sunglasses. He said it would reduce glare a lot better. Told grandson I'd get him a pair of the higher priced sunglasses for making the honor roll but he said the ones he has are adequate since he's never lost a ball in the sun when using the glasses he has. However, once when he was pitching, he was not allowed to use his mirrored lens sunglass although he could not see the catcher since the setting sun was directly in back of the elevated field. What type of sunglasses do board participants use or suggest using?

I am sure your grandson just hasn't used a pair of sunglasses like Oakley's. Personally, as a player, I feel their is a big difference between Oakley's and a some $20 pair.

Also, if I am correct, a pitcher is not allowed to wear a pair of glasses with any tint in the lenses. You may want to look into Nike Maxsight (contacts) for a problem like that.
