Mr. Goose:

The Super 60 is an invite-only event. The event is for mostly seniors, but there are usually a handful of juniors invited as well. Scouts generally recommend players. I've been at the last three Super 60s and there were, I'm guessing, 20-25 MLB scouts in attendance. I believe the event is on the last Sunday of January. I'll find out for sure.

Hopefully that helps.
cubs...Ok...But...Where does he play/did he play?

Obviously out of high school by now?

Where is he going to school or did he sign?

I saw Trezniak from Andrew a few years ago and I thought that he was the best thrower that I've seen in forever.

Saw Saltalamacchia a few years ago, too.

But...1.79...Have to see it.

----

Found him in the Twins organization...played for the GCL Twins.

Thanks, everyone.

greg was a good catcher, he played for my travel team for a few years... big body, plus major league arm, just had a slow feet he could get that pop time down more if he worked on that.... his arm made up for his slow feet.... he could hit a ton as well, when we played down in marietta he hit something like 4 homeruns during the tournament.
just a few names that I know off the top of my head:
Joe Benson, Wade Kapteyn, Connor Powers, Nick Kurash, Cedric Redmond, Colin Bates, Blake Fairchild, Ryan Anderson, Nick Chmielewski, Brian Stroud, Cole Livermore, Devin Foreman, Tyler Ladendorf, Chris Pack, Lambert, James Clancy, Tom Cerven, Lenell McGee, Matt Diedrich, Brad Altbach, Crnkovich, Corcoran, Bobby Simmons, Johanns, Mike Kaczmarek, Chojnowski, Molnar ...
Just wondering, Are invites only for Illinois kids? Was looking at Prospects Plus and noticed there were more '06 listed on the top 400 from Wisconsin than Illinois. For '07 there is a Wisconsin kid listed ahead of any Illinois kids. Did any of those kids get invites? Are all the invites from the Top Tier program? If so, if a kid chose another program over Top Tier can that kid forget about an invite?
In the past showcases, it's been predominately Illinois players, though there's been an occasional Indiana player (Greg Yersich last year). ... I'm sure there are a lot of very talented prospects in Wisconsin, we just don't know them very well. But if a scout calls and says they want someone there, then usually he gets in. ...
About it being only top tier players, kids from all over the state are invited. There are 60 players at the event, a small percentage of which are from Top Tier.

Hopefully that's helpful.
Several players looked very good, especially the pitchers. Some notables (actually, most everybody there was notable) were:

(Pitchers) Cedric Redmond, Nick Chmielewski, Wade Kapteyn, Brian Stroud, Nick Kurash, Jim Clancy, Blake Fairchild, and Chris Pack.

Hitters: Connor Powers, Tyler Ladendorf, Joe Dispensa, Joe Benson, Connor Powers.

Catchers: Nick Herrera

Just a couple standouts from many impressive performances. ...
Sdawg:

Connor was an unparalleled hitter ...

As far as the pitchers were concerned, I am reluctant to overhype velocities, but there were many exceptional performances:

Nick Chmielewski was consistently 90 with a couple 91s.

Wade Kapteyn, the first time throwing off a mound this offseason, was 88-89 with a couple 90s.

Brian Stroud, who in my humble opinion had the most impressive showing there, was 89 nearly every fastball and his curveball was truly special.

Cedric Redmond was an effortless 87-89.
Jim Clancy was 86-88 and very impressive.
Nick Kurash's knucklecurve was impressive as well.

Several others looked very good as well.
