I hear what you are saying about Flower Mound but I would not count them out just yet. Their three teams last spring combined for a 66-5 record and 4 of those losses were on Varsity. From DFW I'll take Southlake at playoff time. Others will just be a luck of the draw.
I do think teams like Coppell and Martin have as good a chance as any of the others assuming they show up at playoff time, perform to their abilities, and can play with the heightened expectations that I think will be on both teams.
Flower Mound will be lucky to be number 4 in district 6-5A considering what they lost last year and the previous 2 before that. If they couldn't get to the round of 16 with those teams, don't look for them to do much this year.
I would also look for another surprise team like Plano West was last year as I think there will be more parity in the high school game and teams this year than some of the previous years. I don't think it will be them but think there may be one. I wouldn't count out the Allens and Rowletts of the world either.
My favorite for State would be Georgetown.
