Any coach's interested in looking at these swing
clips and offer up there opinions.

This is 3 players on my 13/14 yr old summer team.

The first and last clips are 13 yr olds who need work and the 2nd clip is a 14 yr old who is looking for more power.

Feel free to be brutally honest.

The body parts seem to be in the right place at the launches BUT I agree is void of lower body. Are the hands pulling the hips?...probably

One sign is the rear elbows fly away from the torso early( an attempt to hit with the hands...the fairly early wrists roll another sign.

My statenment to the player would be keep the arms more into the body rotation. Someone quoted Garvey" keep the arms short and stubby through the swing'. Let the hip turn launch the bat and keep the hands back intil the hips lead. Form L with rear elbow. I would do top hand drill into bag keeping rear elbow slotted into impact. I would move the tee back to the middle of the stance more to learn to stay connected and get the ball deeeper into the body.

The bat looks heavy or the kid need to be stronger to dominate the bat more.
