My son is a 2013 switch hitting catcher.

The question you must first ask is he a solid stick from both sides. If he is then roll with it.

When he was younger I once asked Jack McKeon about it. He said without a doubt stick with it. This has been confirmed by every good baseball man I have ever talked to. Now on occassion when he was younger self serving middle school and HS coaches wanted him to bat only righty as he had more power from that side at that time.

Be honest with yourself in his ability to hit from both sides. It is without a doubt a tremendous adavantage to hit breaking pitches coming into you rather than away from you... especially as the quality of those pitches improves.
