Good looking kid! I think you might be able to get a little more stretch/separation in frame 9 out of him and I'd like to see his position between frame 10 and 11, but his position at 8,10,11 and 12 look really good.
It looks to me like the hands push to the ball because the upright posture remains constant throughout the swing. He looks a bit "confined", jammed, bunched up at contact.
I would have him try to get his upper body to lean more over the plate and maintain that position throughout the swing. From there, he can do more of a torso turn to bring the hands and bat down to the ball and not have to push his hands to reach. From this upright posture, his torso/shoulders are turning on a plane that is much higher than the ball... hence the need to push the hands down(disconnect) to reach.
To continue... I've had my son get in a stance, take his stride and load his hips, develop an athletic readiness that has his chest more over the plate, then simply/slowly TURN his torso (keeping his hands near his rear shoulder) to bring the bat to the ball (or even an imaginary one, if dry swings). From the contact position, turn back to the launch position. Do this 3 or 4 times then start over. After enough reps, he'll start to get the feel for how much shorter a path it is from launch to contact.
Of course, don't let him flatten the bat behind his back during his load; keep it somewhat upright. From there, it really IS a short quick path. I've even had him to this quick drill sometimes right before BP, just one short little set to remind him of the feeling of short and quick.
