I have just graduated high school and had a great season and have received an offer or two but I think I could have done better. I have been playing hurt for the past two years and I think that if I could have practiced more and played harder consistently I could have received more recognition and maybe even been drafted. I went to a few showcases and did very well but probably only at 70% of my capability. I want to take a year off and rehab and get stronger and then get back to the showcases and tryouts - do you think I will still have a chance at college? Draft?

It's private school that will take students for a year after graduating from high school. Essentially it's repeating senior year. Some do it for academic reasons. Some do it for athletic reasons rather than red shirting the first year at college. A friend injured his arm late summer before heading off to college. He went to a PG program and delayed college for a year while his arm recovered.

Take some Juco classes, make sure they are tranferible. Get healthy and work on your weaknesses. If your healthy in early August there are some un-signed senior showcases. after that your pretty much on your own about getting workouts in front of coaches. Send me a PM if you want info on Indy's or foreign leagues or if you want to persue a college team.
