First-Year Player Draft Official Rules
High school players, if they have graduated from high school and have not yet attended college or junior college
The local JuCo offers an Exercise Science/Theory Baseball summer course. Essentially its the baseball program putting on fielding and hitting practice Tues-Thurs with instruction from the coaching staff. Many of the local HS players enroll over summer break.
I am trying to figure out if this affects MLB Draft and or NCAA eligibility? There is no league play, mostly drills and inter-squads.
I cant find anything concrete regarding draft status and searching NCAA and Clearinghouse site it all references classes as they pertain to your core courses as you would apply them to HS Graduation or College major credits.
Since technically on paper and with the college admissions he is a registered student with a course history does that break the FYPD Official Rules?
FYI His High School does not offer transferable credit for that course, only the core courses (Math,English...). So it really is just a tune-up/reps only opportunity for us.
