Replies sorted oldest to newest

The scouts, reps or coaches will initiate the conversation. If they are standing next to them just a "good morning, I'm Joe Blows Dad, nice to meet you" is all it should be. However, it is your job to introduce yourself and let them know who you are and how excited you are that they are there - and please ask for any advice on any weaknesses they may see.
Anyone can talk to a scout. As for D1 coaches you can initiate a conversation and let him decide where to go with it. If the coach is acting as a clinician it's a bit easier to talk to him. If you tell him you are really interested in his program he will likely tell you to fill out a questionnaire on the teams website. Make sure you introduce yourself with "my name is Joe Blow and ...."
