I agree with Brod. I also recommend CD/DVD rather than tape. Some coaches may not have the tech to view these but usually can have someone help them. CD/DVD allows the coach to view what you have on them. Put a caption on each clip and an idea of how long the clip is. Use a cover sheet to tell the coach what is on them as well and the description/lenth etc. Cut out all the wasted space and get right to what you are trying to show. Clips of real games against top teams is best. You also can have a mechanics clip and a pick off move. Also include any good news clips and awards.
Most coaches don't have a lot of time to waste so you have to get their attention and hold it. If they see something they like they will look at enough to get a good picture.
I always tried to stay away from big production and music etc. Prefer the ball park sound. Make the coach want to see more.
i would strongly suggest that you have the scout send the tape on your behalf.. so many kids send coaches videos and letters every week, and getting the time to reveiw all of them is extremely tough..... if a scout tells the coach that they are sending some footage, they will keep their eye out for it instead of pushing it to the side with the others
