It is a good fit for TCU. It was a football decision. Period. The Mountain West is a pretty good football conference. Baseball is a little weak, but every team in the conference spends good money on their baseball programs and the conference is getting better every year. TCU plays an extremely good out of conference schedule against many of the top national schools. They only have 24 conference games compared to 30 for most conferences. They play all the top Texas schools as well as Stanford, etc. It will be a good move for TCU. jmo
They are in Texas, believe me, it is all about Football in Texas! Baseball has made great strides here, but no matter what, Texas is a football state.

People think I am crazy for wanting to go up north to coach, but that is a big reason.

School I am at, is finishing a $10 million football stadium (2 tiered stadium) and a new gym for basketball. What does baseball get? If(big if) there is any money left over we get a halo around the back of home plate and a sign behind the OF fence that lists all the program's championships...which includes 2 state titles...which is 1 more than any other program has here...and 2 more than football.

Doc,

We are having another big bond election next month, but we need more computers, and campuses, all kinds of things. The baseball facility will hopefully get a facelift in 2010. Needless to say, there is a chance I will not be around for that.

I am looking to move up to the college level so that I can make even less money and work more hours...what a great life! I have some people helping me look, I have great references and letters of rec., but the jobs have to come open first. Since I am not coaching football, I am working on my masters degree. Basically, I am doing everything I can, just need a shot.

The Eagles are working hard right now. After our athletic period is over (and I leave the field), there are about 2 dozen kids staying after working out...it is a beautiful thing!
