Okay, so I'm helping this guy to learn some of the finer points of baseball. He really likes to play baseball and he's got enough natural talent to be good with practice. He's about 6'3" somewhere around 220, 16 years old. He really wants to be a pitcher.. and I've seen a lot of baseball games, pro and highschool, as well as pitching for softball, so i figured I could help a little.

The problem is, I don't know many drills to do for a BASEBALL pitcher. We got through a few of the mechanical problems and he's got a fair amount of speed. Is there anything I can do to help with accuracy, speed and mechanics seperately besides just raw practice? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Most boys say its harder to hit a baseball because it's smaller. If they had bigger balls, they d use a real ball.

Only Sixteen, Only Sixteen, but I was too young to know......(Sam Cooke, ladies and gentlemen).

Anyway, 16 is PRIME time. If this kid wants to pitch in HS or beyond, he's got NO time to lose.
If you can't locate a decent/affordable pitching coach (Plan A), I can recommend a
Plan B - get ahold of John Bagonzi's book, "The Act of Pitching". Also, get ahold of Ron Wolforth's Athletic Pitcher program (http://www.theathleticpitcher.com) and the equipment needed to follow the program. One way or another, it often costs a little money to bring a pitcher up to speed, especially if you're not sure what to do to get there.
Hope this helps!
