I am not sure in your area. If you check the elite teams you can find out where most of their best players end up. Teams tend to develope affiliations with cetain schools based on US tournaments they attend.
We picked schools we were interested in and sent e-mails DVDs etc to them. It is important to play against great competition that the coaches might know which will validate your skill level.
It is very difficult to make Team Canada not because of skill level but because they do not put much effort into seeking out players beyond the Canada Cup and a few "good old Boy" teams. We had the same problem with the Ontario Youth Team until last year. Now OYT is a power house winning gold at all three levels at the Canada Cup last year. Thank god we had a big shakeup last year. Try to get on your provincial Youthy Team but if you can't it will be difficult to get on JNT.
If you can attend lots of US showcases like Perfect Game, Area Codes etc and make sure college coaches will attend from schools you would like to attend.
