The team started off well then faded going into the later part of their schedule. They simply did not have the depth that they needed. Coach Raliegh and his staff work very hard and they expect the same from their players. They have a very good recruiting class committed for next year and they will continue to get better.

The big problem Tennessee will always have is every other team in the SEC is trying to make them have a losing season!

Tennessee may get better this year but their schedule has gotten more difficult this year too. They could improve but still have another losing season. Losing Gomes, Griffin, Suminic and Lima ---- and adding JUCO transfer Tyler Horne will definitely change the face of UT baseball. I wouldn't look for great things this year. As they say the jury is still out. We'll see how it plays out.

How are players treating throughout campus and city? I understand some places they are looked at like any other student and others they are looked very highly

Fellow Poster Kevin11 has a son playing there now. You might try sending him a PM.

HC Raleigh and hitting coach LeCroy both fall under Jack Leggett's (Clemson) extensive coaching tree (both played for Leggett). It took a few years for another person who worked for Leggett, Tim Cobin, to turn Vandy around.

I would expect in another year or two with their own recruits and knowledge UT will be a contender again in the SEC, same way that O'Sullivan is turning things around at UF and new Auburn coach (both falling under the coaching tree) to do the same. Will be pretty interesting to follow the SEC in the next few years.
