Tennessee Smokies High School Showcase

Call the Tennessee Smokies front office. They have a web site and their numbers are provided there. Ask them if they heard of this camp and if indeed the Cubs are sponsoring it. If so, that probably is legit.

Not sure what you mean about the buzz words. What if they said no scout or coach recommended your son - wouldn't that be more cause for concern?

Based on what we have seen in the past at college camps, "recommended" can mean as little as other coaches provided us their camp mailing lists.

The Showcase is legit...we are wondering more about the quality of the showcase and the caliber of the athletes that have attended. The talent level in the past would certainly tell us if it was a mailing list invitation or actual recommendations by coaches and scouts.

I know the scouts that are conducting this event. This is one of the best events you will go to....

My 2013 and 2014 are both going, we have been to USA TEAM in Jupiter, and Perfect game in Atlanta and this one will rank right there with the number of scouts.

The scouts will be at this event. Now you might not see ULCA scouts there, but you will see plenty from Tn, SC, NC, Al, Ga, Fla etc....

Did anyone go to the event in July? Can you provide any details? Another one is coming up in October...

If a fellow named Keith Ryman is involved it'll be worthy of your time. He's a scout who lives in the area.

Wanted to bump this thread and get some feedback from anyone that may have attended the 2012 event.  Son received the camp info this week and trying to find out if is worth the mini vacation to attend.  Thanks
