As several of you know and those who don't know, I am involved with Atlantic Coast Baseball, based in Wilson, NC. We have an elite high school league, youth handicapped baseball programs, a baseball store (we carry Brett Bros. equipment, George Brett's company), build indoor facilities, etc.

I was recently brought on board by Terry Pendleton (hitting coach of the Atlanta Braves) to assist his new baseball programs here in North Carolina. The philosophies fit into where I was with Atlantic Coast Baseball so it was a perfect match.

Beginning in late summer, we will be holding, "Prospect Trackers", which are to aid in player recruitment. The scale they use is 20/80 and the Trackers are ran by current and former MLB scouts. All evaluations are posted on the Pendleton website and included into their database. We will run two-four of these in central/eastern North Carolina.

The other program to note, will begin in August. That is called the D-1 Tour. The Tour will hold tryouts throughout the state with the top 80 players being selected to four teams. Once teams are selected they will play for five weekends this fall in five different D-1 stadiums. Each weekend they will play 3 games (2 on Saturday, 1 on Sunday) for a total of 15 games for five weeks. Coaches of each team will be current and former MLB scouts and their goal over the five weeks is to write an accurate evaluation of their players, over the five weeks.

After the five week period is over, an all-star team is selected out of the 80 players to form Team Carolina who will then play at the Pendleton Wood Bat Fall Nationals at Tigertown in Lakeland Florida (home of Detroit Tigers) the last weekend of October. Last year there were over 250 scouts on hand to watch the tournament which is combined with the Florida Community College All-Star game.

Anyway, thanks for your time. If you have questions, check out the Pendleton website, www.pendletonbaseball.com. Please excuse their current site, it is the middle of being restructured, but they have much of their information up.

If you have further questions for me, I can be reached at info@atlantic-coast-baseball.com. I will also be updating my website, www.atlantic-coast-baseball.com with area information in regards to Pendleton Baseball.

Thanks again.

Whatever happened to Pendleton baseball? Has it folded?
I am given to understand that Terry Pendleton has disassociated himself from the program that was home-based out of Hardball Warehouse in Duluth, Georgia, an Atlanta suburb. I heard a variety of reasons, but all would be hearsay.

My son participated in the Pendleton D-1 tour in the fall of '04, playing on campuses in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida, culminating in the all-star game in Winter Haven, Florida in late October. He then played for their 18-U scout team this past summer throughout the southeast. The opportunities for exposure which were presented through these programs led directly and indirectly to the scholarship he earned.

I believe the program that once was Pendleton Baseball has migrated/mutated into Nike 5-Tool Baseball, or something to that effect. If you have a specific interest in this program, send a PM and I can provide a contact number of someone far more current with the program than I am.

Edit Addition: Here is the website address for the current program as it evolved from the one my son played for.

I am glad to hear that Terry Pendleton is still out there helping our younger ball players out. I live in Terry's hometown in California where he lived and played as a teen. Sure wish he would develop a program like this one over here in Ventura County. I went to check out his website and I kept getting an artist...I will have to remind myself to check by on it. I know that when he used to come in to Dodger Stadium, our local little leagues would go to root on the home town legend!!
God Bless Roger Wilkinson at his 5-Tool Site.

AS for as the other poster...well that is a deceptive story-LOL\

ACBL, what does fastpitch softball and artist Larry Smith have to do with baseball?

Can't you find another board in your attempts to deceive?

Your killing us ACBL!

Good Morning Boards!

Shep - No problem. I know the original post was old, but I knew of at least one dubious character that was to be a regional director. Just wondered if it was still around. Kind of had my doubts.....
