Interesting take on the Villanova camp. I was also there as well as my son. I thought he did a fine job at the showcase and even though you don't think parents and players attending these showcases know what D1 school require you are wrong. I am fully aware of the qualifications required by D1 as I have followed two nephews recruited by D1 schools. One of those nephews happened to be drafted fairly high this season right out of high school. Be careful with your assumptions.
Interesting take as I said before. How long were you at the camp? What pitchers were you talking to as the kids from the Villanova team I saw were goofing around most of the time talking to one another and drinking gatorade. Don't know what their observations meant. Only one Villanova player/coach??? pitched showcase ball and the other showcase pitcher was the newly hired pitching coach for Villanova. Just curious as to how you came to your conclusions not being on the field for the entire day?
I meant the showcase portion of the day not the modified game. I'm not interested in running to any coach over anything anyone said. I am a little put off by your observations since I didn't understand how long you were at the field. I guess in my lifetime I have been very careful over making blanket statements.
Our take on the Villanova Camp was that it was well run. According to my son there were boys from all over at that camp not just PA. He also said the coaches and players on the field were supportive and very nice. That is why I was so curious over your first posts TG. It seemed contentious to say the least. I am sure there were boys there that shouldn't have been. I saw that, but I can honestly say I would never put down any kid that puts themselves in front of other players, coaches, and parents. From what I've found, on this site, and at the many tournaments and showcases we've been to most people are supportive of the boys on the field regardless of level of play cause everyone knows how hard it is to just be on the field. It is a long grueling process.
