Wylie's pitching seems to be strong enough to win most games, but offensive problems have killed them. They appear to have some athletes on the bench, but they keep rolling out the same daily lineup, which includes a couple of full-time starters who are hitless for the season so far. It will be interesting to see how long their young coach can stick with that lineup before he's forced to try some different things.

ucantbeserious,

Are you a parent of a player who isn't playing much?
In my opinion, most of the teams in 9-5A have similar offensive challenges -- with the exception of Plano West. Allen, East, Wylie, Plano, LH, Berkner need to be better defensively and on the mound to win consistently. In another 10 days, we could possibly see PW a few games ahead of the pack --- but six teams bunched together under them.
Here is what the coaches think:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

5A:
1. ALVIN – 19-1
2. EL PASO SOCORRO – 20-0
3. HUMBLE ATASCOCITA – 18-2
4. PLANO WEST – 14-1
5. GEORGETOWN – 14-5
6. MISSION SHARYLAND – 18-1-1
7. SAN ANTONIO REAGAN – 16-2
8. COPPELL – 14-3
9. ROWLETT – 14-0-2
10. ARLINGTON MARTIN – 15-3-1

Makes you wonder about the Cy's - Woods and Creeks in Houston - no doubt they will be heard from befoe the end of the year.
are you joking?

Wylies pitching and defense is probably one of the better in the state. The offense is starting to come around but yes the offense has been the reason for the majority of the loses especially during district play. And with the return of Daniel Jordan the defense is upgraded a large amount, no offense to alex boliver the ss during the time that daniel was out. What wyile needs is for there sticks to come around

Any team playing.500 or worse in district play, I don't think you can call any part of that "one of the better in the state" when that team is not "one of the better in the district" at this point.

Is is to early in 2008 to nominate a post for "dumbest post of the year". Surely Wpirate09 is a 17 year old kid because I can't believe a grown person would dig up a ranking that is two weeks old and then try to claim their sub .500 team should be considered in that ranking.

I never Said that they deserve a ranking im just making a point to pantherdad that what they need to work on is their hitting not pitching and defense

and im not a kid just a fan that goes to all the games

Plano West -- #1 in the state!!! Congratulations cross-town brothers. Cool

Not-so-coincidentally, it is Kirk Kiser's 1st season as Booster Club President. The Wolves got it goin' on!

Fastballmom -- who do you pick in the Region II Finals -- or is it the State Quarterfinals?

OP -- I still think Grapeland is a bit over-rated.

And where did Hughes Springs come from??? Cool

All seriousness aside, congratulations to personal friends from West, Rowlett, Martin, Poteet, Waxahachie, and Hughes Springs.

Brazoswood should be #1 and is not even ranked. Oh by the way, the beat Alvin once and Clear Creek twice in the reg season. All they have done in the playoffs is dominate. The beat Clear Creek and whipped Bellaire's bo-hynie. I would rate them numero uno.

Jgrman,

Pay attention to the posted dates. These ranking posts are from last year.
